We also track employees time so that they are billed properly against government grants and so that we can share resources between portfolio companies allowing them to gain the advantage of a skilled employee without the full annual cost.
Human resource management, from following state hiring laws to managing benefit programs to properly ending employment, is a set of standardized process for Early Charm. In most cases, we hire into Early Charm and charge only the direct cost of the employee to our portfolio companies. This allows us to maintain standardized HR records and to bundle benefits reducing the overall costs.
We also manage office space, buying computers, ordering business cards, maintaining electronic and physical filing systems, filing taxes and a whole host of items that are easy for a solo entrepreneur to miss or mistake.
