Wickless’s business and market analysis skills and experience to help accelerate

growth of Early Charm’s Blue Economy portfolio of companies

December 1, 2021, Baltimore, MD – Early Charm, a company that creates, owns and operates ventures that convert science to revenue, today announced the hiring of Mary Beth Wickless, a seasoned business and market analyst, as Blue Economy Portfolio Analyst.

As part of her new role, Wickless will work primarily with Early Charm’s Blue Economy portfolio companies – including Minnowtech, Gaskiya Diagnostics and VakSea – to develop company strategies and roadmaps to drive portfolio company growth in the US and globally.

Working closely with the scientific and technical teams of each company, Wickless will help establish and refine business growth strategies and development pathways to help each Blue Economy portfolio company reach and achieve their key commercialization milestones.

“Mary Beth brings an array of skills and experience needed to help us vault our Blue Economy portfolio of companies to the next level,” said Ken Malone, Executive Officer with Early Charm. “Her experience crafting business plans, financial cases and investment materials will help us connect with more potential collaborators, investors and funding agencies to enhance our go-to-market strategies.”

Wickless, a native of Arbutus, MD, graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a BA in Media and Communication Studies.

Prior to joining the Early Charm team, Wickless worked as an independent business and marketing consultant, and held roles with multiple biotechnology startup companies, including Acumen Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

In addition to her professional achievements, Wickless continues her dedication to community service with a focus on youth, poverty and hunger. She has volunteered for hunger abatement events through Rise Against Hunger; Terps Against Hunger; the Maryland Food Bank; plus coordinated a drive for household goods for families transitioning out of homelessness in the Baltimore area.
