Gleichenhaus to use market research skills to expand Early Charm’s access to university and institution-based tech commercialization opportunities

November 4, 2019 – Early Charm Ventures, a startup studio that collaborates with academic researchers to convert science to business, today announced the hiring of Cole Gleichenhaus, a current student at Johns Hopkins University (JHU), as Technology Commercialization Analyst.

In his new role, Gleichenhaus will conduct market research on new and innovative university-based technologies to determine the feasibility of tech commercialization.

Gleichenhaus, a native of Buffalo, NY, is majoring in economics with concentrations in business marketing and finance at JHU. He was a 2019 summer intern with Early Charm focusing on learning how to conduct market research and customer discovery for potential technology commercialization opportunities.

“We’re very glad to welcome Cole to our growing Early Charm team,” said Early Charm Ventures’ founder Ken Malone. “Bringing his solid academic grounding in business at Johns Hopkins, Cole did terrific work for us over the summer, and we’re thrilled to have him with us going forward.” With his academic focus on economics, including statistical analysis and professional writing and communication, Gleichenhaus also aims to use his business marketing skills to help grow Early Charm’s stable of portfolio companies. In addition to his studies at JHU, Gleichenhaus currently serves as Performance Director for the Johns Hopkins Mental Notes a cappella group.

"The magic of Early Charm truly comes from its people,” said Gleichenhaus. “I've had the wonderful opportunity to connect with the team in the last few months, and I look forward to being a part of Early Charm’s efforts to drive both Baltimore-based and global technology transfer and commercialization efforts."
