Early Charm Ventures Announces Hiring of Expert in Aquaculture Operations

Elan Lowenstein to help grow Early Charm’s Aquaculture Technologies portfolio of companies

January 27, 2020, Baltimore, MD – Early Charm Ventures, a startup studio that converts

science to business, today announced the hiring of Elan Lowenstein. In his new role as Fellow, Lowenstein will help grow Early Charm’s Aquaculture Technologies portfolio, currently consisting of Minnowtech, Gaskiya Diagnostics and VakSea.

Lowenstein comes to Early Charm with experience in aquaculture and formal legal training. In 2019, he earned a Master of Professional Science in Marine Affairs (Aquaculture) at the

University of Miami as well as a JD at the University of Miami School of Law. He has also served as Research Assistant at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences’ Experimental Hatchery where he worked with Recover Consortium on the various life stages of mahi-mahi.

“As we look to aggressively grow our portfolio around the aquaculture space, we saw Elan’s passion for aquaculture and experience in hatcheries as a great addition to our team,” said Adam Van Dyke, Principal with Early Charm Ventures overseeing its aquaculture portfolio.

As a Fellow with the University of Miami Startup Practicum, Lowenstein consulted with clients on business organization, employment, intellectual property and contracts.

Lowenstein also holds a BA in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Florida’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a Minor in Business Administration.
