Singh to focus on driving product research and development for Gaskiya Diagnostics

October 14, 2020, Baltimore, MD – Early Charm Ventures, a venture studio that converts science to business, today announced the hiring of Prerna Singh as a Research Associate for Early Charm’s growing portfolio of companies.

In her start with Early Charm, Singh initially will work with Mary Larkin, PhD, and CEO with Gaskiya Diagnostics, which recently raised a total of $625,000 in closing a seed financing round.

Gaskiya Diagnostics serves the $250 billion per year aquaculture industry by enabling farmers to quickly diagnose disease in their stock and take immediate action to mitigate its impact.

“Prerna’s skills and passion are going to accelerate the growth that Mary has been leading at Gaskiya,” said Ken Malone, Managing Director with Early Charm. “While Prerna’s primary focus is Gaskiya, she will no doubt contribute across our portfolio, bringing fresh perspectives to our drug discovery companies and more.”

Singh holds a MS in cellular and molecular biomedical sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) and a BSc. (Honors) Biomedical Sciences from the University of Nottingham.

Singh started her professional scientific career as a Laboratory Research Assistant in Dr. Maria Baer's lab at UMB. In this role, Singh, among many research areas, was involved in translational research in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with clinical trials and study pathways following multidrug treatments.
