Early Charm Ventures, a startup studio that collaborates with academic researchers to convert science to business, is hosting three college students as summer interns, each of whom will learn about a range of ongoing Early Charm work activities including market research and customer discovery for technology commercialization.
Early Charm’s 2019 intern class is: Jennifer Belson, Emory University; Zachary Brooks, University of Michigan; and Cole Gleichenhaus, Johns Hopkins University.
At Emory, Belson is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Innovation. Belson, a Rockville, MD native, is interested in public health and data science for career paths. She currently serves as a consultant to TAMID Emory, supporting market research and business development initiatives for startups based in Israel’s high-tech ecosystem. Gleichenhaus, a Buffalo, NY native, is majoring in Economics with a minor in Psychology at Johns Hopkins University. With an academic focus on Macro/Microeconomics, Entrepreneurship and Business Growth, Gleichenhaus is interested in Marketing as a career path. At Hopkins, he serves as Performance Director and Board Member for the Johns Hopkins Mental Notes a cappella group. Brooks, a native of Owings Mills, MD, is a rising sophomore at the University of Michigan. He is focusing his academic work in entrepreneurship, including participation in an entrepreneur creativity class in which groups of students are charged with creating new viable products and businesses. “We’re very glad to have Jennifer, Cole and Zach with us as interns this summer,” said Ken Malone, co-founder with Early Charm. “They each have energy, creativity and a strong willingness to learn more about technology and commercialization activities.” About Early Charm Ventures: Early Charm Ventures is a startup studio, founded in 2012 in Baltimore, that collaborates with academic researchers to convert science to business.
