Early Charm Ventures to Partner with MD-Based Innovators of Progress Scholarship Program

The partnership aims to connect resources to support and retain the highly driven, entrepreneurially talented students in the Baltimore-Washington, DC region

March 4, 2020, Baltimore, MD – Early Charm Ventures, a venture studio that converts science to business, today announced the launch of a partnership with the Maryland-based Innovators of Progress Scholarship Program, which offers motivated college-age students a competitive opportunity to explore entrepreneurship and develop their business ideas.

Under the partnership, Early Charm and the Innovators of Progress Scholarship Program team will collaborate in a robust program of activity to broaden awareness about and spur more applications to the program among students in higher education institutions in the District of Columbia, the City of Baltimore and in Maryland’s public universities and colleges. Students in the Baltimore-Washington, DC region’s community colleges and trade schools are also eligible to apply.

“The Innovators of Progress Scholarship Program mission is about helping build the next generation of entrepreneurs and job creators in our region,” said Ken Malone, Managing Director with Early Charm Ventures. “We’re ready to work with the Innovators of Progress Scholarship Program team to help more students have the opportunity to act on their entrepreneurial business ideas.”

Early Charm and Innovators of Progress Scholarship Program also will collaborate on activities, including: build relationships with Baltimore-Washington, DC colleges and universities to spur awareness about the Innovators of Progress Scholarship Program; develop internship opportunities in companies for the program’s selected scholars; and provide mentorship opportunities for the program’s scholars with the Early Charm team and develop a network of mentors in companies across the region.

The Innovators of Progress Scholarship Program works to identify motivated college-age students and, within a competitive application process, provides selected scholars with $2,000 in financial aid and seed capital every semester they’re in school to fuel their entrepreneurial ideas in science, technology, engineering, math, healthcare, finance, infrastructure/civil, education, literacy and business.
