September 4, 2020, Baltimore, MD – Materic, a custom materials manufacturer, today announced the hiring of Keturah Postell, a polymer and color chemist, who will join the Materic team at their Baltimore-based manufacturing site.

Postell, a native of Windsor Mill, MD, is a May 2020 graduate of North Carolina State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Polymer and Color Chemistry with a Concentration in Medical Sciences.

In previous roles, Postell served as a Research Consultant at Mathematics, Education and Research Associates and served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Textile Protection and Comfort Center (TPACC).

Translations of these technologies are being harnessed to create new advanced textiles applications, such as cost-effective flame-retardant fabrics plus a long-acting insect repellant These technologies are aimed at providing protection from environmental elements for military personnel; workers in high-risk jobs, such as in firefighting and petroleum discovery; and outdoor recreationists.

"Keturah brings a deep knowledge of textiles to our rapidly growing team,” said Ken Malone, Director with Materic. “It’s also always great when we can hire a Baltimore native to help us expand our made-in-Baltimore products.”
