What we do:
Early Charm converts science into revenue using a unique business model that avoids the Valley of Death and the need for venture capital. We have over 40 ventures in the areas of advanced materials, drug design, aquaculture, and machine vision.
Why we do it:
We believe that unleashing the power of science to improve the human condition should not be limited strictly to the economics of venture capital and large institutions. We are demonstrating to the world not only that our business model works well at scale, but that it often provides superior solutions in a more capital- efficient manner.
What you will do:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Technical Sales Specialist at Early Charm in Baltimore, MD. You will work closely with our Business Director to develop and execute sales strategies that continue to drive revenue growth for Early Charm’s advanced materials division, Materic.
Materic is a custom manufacturer of advanced materials based in Baltimore, MD. We specialize in electrospinning, nanoparticle separation, textile treatments, 3D printing materials, specialty inks, and microencapsulation, and apply this expertise to our own product lines as well as custom manufacturing projects for our customers.
The Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day technical support of customers in the sales and product development process. The role requires detailed knowledge of our product lines and manufacturing capabilities and will be responsible for customer communication, sales engineering, and technical sales support.
What you need to be successful:
A candidate with a strong physical science, life science, or engineering background is a big plus. We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated candidate that isn’t afraid to jump in headfirst and learn on the fly. In this role, you will often have to work outside of your comfort zone and wear many hats. You should be a capable, engaging communicator who is able to explain complex technical information at an appropriate level.
What we will do for you:
Career development is our top priority for you. You will learn from our senior business team and our lead scientists and are encouraged to build your capabilities with third-party training. You will expand your network around the world by building close relationships with our customers.
